What's the ongoing joke? Kids are demanding. Not only do they require your constant attention and devotion, but they also expect to be feed every night for 18 years. Good luck planing those 6,570+ meals, mom.
But seriously, feeding a family isn't the easiest task when there are 100 things going on. Next thing you know its 5:00 and your children are yelling for dinner (me, this me and my house. My children are yelling for dinner).
A few years back, my husband watched a show that focused on the planning surrounding US Navy submarines. He fell in love with this idea of a 21 day rotating menu. I, however, did not. Eat the same thing every 21 days? I like to shake it up too much to be trapped on that type of schedule.
Fast forward to our current life: 2 kids (one sweet, one bossy), 2 careers, and zero time. We started realizing that if meals aren't prepped (EASY), we were going to fall back to fast food (Domino's and their judgmental eyes). We implemented the 21 day menu that changes with seasons and it has been wildly successful. We do all our shopping on Sunday and prep the food (cut/chop/marinade/grate) to make our life that much easier.
I know what you are thinking, no way. Nope. Not us. Laura, you are crazy. I know. I get it. I was in denial too. But I found the light, my friends, and the light says prep and plan. So without further ado, Here are the links to our current rotating menu:
W1: Lemon Basil Orzo
Th1: Grilled Pork Chops
Sa1: Cheeseburgers and Sweet potato fries
W2: Creamy Sausage and Tomato Tortellini
Th2: Koren Beef Bowl
Sa2: Beef Fajitas
Su2: Grilled Chicken with Lemon Basil Pasta
M3: Honey Mustard Chicken and Salad
Th3: Spicy Thai Chicken and Quinoa
Su3: Grilled Casear Cobb Salad
Let me know what your favorites are! We personally love that honey mustard chicken )SO FREAKING GOOD. )
